Advanced Micro Devices announced three mobile Athlon XP-M processors on Tuesday, taking the performance of its mobile Athlon line to a performance rating of 2800+.

AMD also announced two low-power versions of the Athlon XP-M, at 1900+ and 2000+ speed grades, in addition to the 2800+ chip, which has been designed for desktop-replacement notebooks.

AMD did not disclose the power requirements for the low-power Athlon XP-M chips. All of the new processors contain 512 Kbytes of level-2 cache.

“AMD works closely with computer manufacturers to understand what their customers look for in a notebook,” said Rich Heye, vice president and general manager of AMDs Microprocessor Business Unit, in a statement. “The addition of these three new mobile AMD processors helps ensure that manufacturers can deliver on-the-go productivity, crisp graphics and extended battery life to their customers.”
