Adobe on Wednesday launched Photoshop, Adobe Express, and Acrobat inside ChatGPT, letting the platform’s huge audience experiment with creative tools without switching apps.

Adobe said the goal is to make creativity easier for everyone, especially people who may never have used these apps before.

“We’re thrilled to bring Photoshop, Adobe Express and Acrobat directly into ChatGPT, combining our creative innovations with the ease of ChatGPT to make creativity accessible for everyone,” said David Wadhwani, president of digital media at Adobe.

He added that now “hundreds of millions of people can edit with Photoshop simply by using their own words, right inside a platform that’s already part of their day-to-day.”

This partnership places Adobe’s industry-standard tools in front of ChatGPT’s massive audience of 800 million weekly users. According to Adobe, this integration builds on their work in “agentic AI,” allowing people to “easily enhance vacation photos, design event invitations and create polished, professional documents simply by describing what they want to achieve with their words.”

How it works inside the chat

The new integrations let users call up Adobe apps simply by naming them in a prompt. For example, typing “Adobe Photoshop, help me blur the background of this image” will open a Photoshop-powered interface that handles the request.

The system can also handle conversational adjustments and surface simple UI elements, such as sliders for brightness or contrast.

While powerful, these ChatGPT versions don’t offer the comprehensive functionality of Adobe’s desktop software, but they still offer popular capabilities like on-screen controls when users want more precision.

OpenAI’s growing app ecosystem

This integration builds on OpenAI’s push from October, when it opened ChatGPT to third-party apps like Instacart, Spotify, Zillow, Canva, and Figma. Adobe is now one of the biggest names to join that ecosystem.

Adobe confirmed that Photoshop, Acrobat, and Adobe Express are available in ChatGPT starting today across desktop, web, and iOS. On Android, only Adobe Express is supported for now, while Photoshop and Acrobat are expected to be available soon.
