After a short stay of execution, America Online has finally pulled the plug on Netscape with an update notice encouraging users to migrate immediately to either Firefox or Flock.

On the screen, Flock is listed ahead of Netscape and there’s even a nudge on the Netscape blog recommending the social media browser (which is based on Mozilla technology) over all other alternatives.

““For those who choose Flock, not only will you get a seamless upgrade of your preferences from Navigator 9, but you’ll have the option to choose a theme that (to us) looks a lot like the Navigator theme. Very cool.”“
