      1Takeoffs and Landings

      1

Google’s Flight Search landing page reveals a clean, Spartan service.

      2Airports

      2

Using our East Coast locations, Google suggested several airports in the region from which we might fly out. A Google spokesperson assured us that more airport options are available, though all flights are economy class for now.

      3JFK to Vegas, Baby

      3

We selected a flight path from John F. Kennedy airport in New York to Las Vegas here.

      4More Flights

      4

Want to see more flight options? Close out of the map view by clicking the balloon button.??í

      5Choices

      5

Google Flight Search prefers to show you the quickest, cheapest routes available, such as these choices for flights from JFK to Vegas.

      6Calendar

      6

Check out the calendar view, which boasts a slider tool for date ranges.

      7Filter Expensive Flights

      7

Google Flight Search also lets users filter out long, expensive flights—the kind no one likes.

      8Manual Options

      8

Users may choose not to tune the filters using the sliders. Google provides these manual filtering options to specify flights, duration and price points.

      9Bradley to SFO

      9

We tried to trick Google Flight Search, and failed. We know for a fact that Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Conn., doesn’t offer nonstop flights to San Francisco. So we used the filter on the side to test our knowledge. Google correctly did not list any such flight.

      10Bradley, With Connections

      10

So we changed the filter to reflect flights with a stop, and there are plenty of options for us to choose.

      11Connections

      11

We can even pick and choose our connections.

      12Returns

      12

Use the sliders to filter your times to depart and return.

      13Time to Book

      13

We selected this flight route from Hartford to San Francisco, departing via Continental and returning home via American Airlines.

      14Red Button

      14

Click the red button to get whisked away to American Airlines’ site to book the flight.
