Theyre not necessarily hopping on the grid train, but beta testers of Oracle Database 10g are finding things they like, including HTML DB—an application development tool that lets users with little or no programming experience create applications on the fly—and 10gs new support of regular expressions to simplify search strings in the database. The challenge now is for Oracle to convince customers that 10g has been simplified enough so that businesses can get by without a team of database administrators.
