MicroStrategy introduced a new platform integration with Apple Touch ID to deliver an analytics solution that enables developers to create Touch ID-secured documents and apps.

The new integration enables developers to build biometrically secured analytics solutions. With Touch ID for analytics, MicroStrategy is looking to help organizations mobilize their enterprise information and mission-critical systems.

Company officials said Touch ID for analytics builds on MicroStrategy’s existing security capabilities, a combination of device security, data security, authentication and authorization capabilities that provide a layered and effective approach to protecting sensitive data accessed by mobile business apps.

“With MicroStrategy’s industrial-strength platform, our customers can feel confident that we’ve provided them with the tools to secure their most sensitive corporate data,” said Michael Saylor, founder, chairman and CEO of MicroStrategy, in a statement. “Analytics and data security really go hand in hand. It’s something we’ve always focused on and have increasingly invested in with the introduction of our Usher Identity Platform in recent years. Apple’s Touch ID technology is another way we can reduce any barriers our customers face in leveraging the transformative power of mobility.”

While mobile access to information is revolutionizing how people work, uncertainty about mobile security often deters organizations from making the leap into enterprise mobility. The perceived risk that sensitive information may become compromised is one reason organizations think twice about mobilizing their existing information, particularly mission-critical systems.

However, hundreds of organizations across industries including financial service providers, oil companies, and global retailers, have mobilized their enterprises with MicroStrategy Mobile, the company said. MicroStrategy Mobile provides a quick way to build custom business apps infused with analytics, transactions, and multimedia content. With Touch ID for analytics, MicroStrategy brings to market a complete solution for securely mobilizing enterprise information and mission-critical systems.

MicroStrategy Mobile provides secure mobilization of existing MicroStrategy reports and documents. With a MicroStrategy Mobile Server in place, users can connect to their analytics content and consume it via a native mobile app. In its latest release, MicroStrategy Mobile also delivers a new analytics browsing experience redesigned for iOS 8. Users can find and execute reports and documents, answer prompts using a touch-optimized experience, and broadcast, annotate, and share to collaborate with others.

By using the latest version of MicroStrategy, existing customers can add Touch ID to their MicroStrategy apps, reports and documents. Meanwhile, non-MicroStrategy Mobile customers interested in Touch ID secured analytics can take advantage of a “MicroStrategy Mobile Apps on AWS” offer. MicroStrategy will set up the environment in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud, build a custom mobile analytical app for the organization, and turn on Touch ID as part of the app’s industrial-strength security.
