Business intelligence software developer MicroStrategy Inc. announced Wednesday the latest release of its software, which is more tightly integrated with SAP AGs NetWeaver integration platform than past versions.

The latest release, MicroStrategy 8, is designated a “Powered by NetWeaver” suite by SAP, of Walldorf, Germany.

The certification means the MicroStrategy software is certified for SAPs Web Application Server, Business Warehouse and Enterprise Portal.

The suite itself comes with reporting, analysis, scorecards and dashboard capabilities.

With the release of MicroStrategy 8, SAP Business Information Warehouse users will have the ability to report on, analyze and monitor their data.

At the same time, users will have the ability to join SAP BW data with non-SAP data.

The expanded NetWeaver integration also gives users access to SAP BW Structures and Variables that are contained within its Business Content software—a capability that lets users perform more ad-hoc business information requests, MicroStrategy officials said, in McLean, Va.
