Oracle Corp. announced Thursday that it has added a twelfth member to its Board of Directors.
The company appointed Naomi Seligman, a senior partner at technology research firm Ostriker von Simson, to its board.
Seligman, who also sits on the Boards of The Dun & Bradstreet Corp., Sun Microsystems Inc. and Akamai Technologies Inc., joins Oracle co-president and CFO Safra Catz as the second woman on Oracles board.
She is also the co-founder and a former senior partner of the Research Board Inc., an international think tank headquartered in New York City.
Membership is by invitation only and is restricted to CIOs of the worlds largest corporations, according to the Institutions Web site.
With her finger on the pulse of technology, Seligman said she is looking for the next big challenge.
“The software industry is at a crossroads in both competition and delivering value to its customers,” Seligman said in a statement.
“Oracle is at the center of this transition and I enthusiastically look forward to my active involvement with the Board and the company.”
