Microsoft last week announced the release of a technology preview of the next version of its free tool kit for developers building Web services, Microsoft Web Services Enhancements 2.0.

WSE 2.0 includes new security features for building secure Web services that work across enterprise boundaries to exchange information with customers and partners, officials said.

WSE 2.0 builds on the security, routing and attachment capabilities of WSE 1.0 and adds support for specifications such as WS-Security, WS-Policy, WS-SecurityPolicy, WS-Trust, WS-SecureConversation and WS-Addressing, officials said.
