The winner of a Java programming contest sponsored by Espial.com will rise high and fast—up to 82,000 feet at Mach 2.5, in a Russian MiG-25 Foxbat fighter. Second place takes a zero-gravity simulation flight.

The second annual Smart Device Application Contest seeks the best Java apps for mobile Internet devices such as Web phones, PDAs and automobile systems. Winners will be announced in June at the JavaOne contest in San Francisco.

The winners package includes an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Moscow, including five nights in a luxury hotel (is that an oxymoron?) and 100,000 rubles (about $4,000) in spending money. But what about airsickness bags?
