During a conversion from Target’s computer system to May Department Stores’ system, Marshall Field’s has been experiencing IT problems that have delayed furniture orders, according to a Field’s spokeswoman.
The problems have caused some orders to be erased from the system and others to be filled late, according to Field’s employee who asked to remain anonymous. The employee added that salespeople are losing money from lost sales and commissions.
May Department Stores bought Field’s last year from Target. And May is now in the process of being purchased by Federated Department Stores.
