Global CRM Market to Surpass $11 Billion by 2008

Siebel continues to dominate a CRM market that is expected to grow steadily toward the $11.4 billion revenue mark by 2008, according to a report by IDC.

New statistics from IDC project that the worldwide CRM-applications market will reach $11.4 billion in revenues by 2008, experiencing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.9 percent over the 2004-2008 forecast period.

IDC CRM Research Director Robert Blumstein does not think these two trends — the continued dominance of Siebel and the growing popularity of hosted software — are at odds with one another. Rather, they reflect divergent needs in the marketplace. However, Blumstein says, the two inevitably will continue to impact each other, especially as on-demand continues to grow.
