Looking for a way to beef up your XML skills and credentials? Check out a recently announced education and certification program from a pair of standards organizations.

The program focuses specifically on the EAN.UCC XML cross-industry schema for B2B e-commerce developed jointly by EAN International, of Brussels, Belgium, and the Uniform Code Council Inc., of Princeton, N.J. Standards developer UCC joined with education and certification provider Drake Certivo Inc., of Newport Beach, Calif., to develop a series of classes and a certification program around the XML schema.

The three-class series is designed to build skills in both the technical aspects of the XML schema as well as in business processes and benefits associated with it. The EAN.UCC XML standards became available in July of last year.

The first course, which costs $750, is being offered now as an online course. Drake Certivo plans to add an instructor-led option within the next few months. The second and third courses will become available at the end of spring or early summer and combine both online and instructor-led components, said Drake Certivo spokeswoman Lori Kelman-Seely.
