PeopleSoft Inc. Tuesday announced the acquisition of JCIT International Inc.s Demand Flow software at the 2003 APICS International Conference and Expo in Las Vegas.
JCITs Demand Flow follows the lean manufacturing methodology, which follows the precept that companies need to be able to support change while eliminating waste and reducing operational costs.
The Demand Flow software will be combined with PeopleSofts supply-chain offerings to help users improve agility and reduce inventory levels in their business as well as across the supply chain, officials said.
Demand Flow is available now from PeopleSoft in limited release. Its expected to be generally available in 2004.
JCIT, which has trained about 85,000 students on the lean manufacturing methodology, will market with PeopleSoft associated training and consulting services.
