Solidifying its business integration offerings, Tibco Software Inc. announced Wednesday that the integration of its Talarian products is complete – and with the addition of the Talarian line, it has a complete suite of messaging products.

Enterprise application integration software maker Tibco, of Palo Alto, Calif., purchased Talarian in January.

In addition to adding three new products from Talarian, including SmartSockets, SmartPGM [Pragmatic General Multicast] and SmartPGM FX, Tibco also announced that its shipping new versions of its Enterprise for JMS [Java Messaging Service] and Rendezvous product.

Tibcos messaging product line is geared toward a number of vertical industries the likes of telecommunications, energy, financial services, transportation, logistics and high-tech manufacturing, officials said.

Talarian – like Tibco in its early days – had strong roots in the financial sector, particularly in areas such as high-volume stock exchanges, where SmartSockets high-performance messaging technology proved critical.

Talarian also brought a strong SmartPGM multi-casting technology to the table that enabled, for example, a stock quote to be sent once and delivered to 800,000 people.

Tibcos Rendezvous technology complements both technologies, as it essentially guarantees that a message will get to its destination.

Overall, Tibco has a broad suite of products that reaches out over networks, business-to-business supply chains and other industries to integrate applications in and outside the firewall.
