Amazon, the first Internet services provider to go mainstream with cloud storage in 2006, revealed March 26 that it now is offering two unlimited cloud storage plans with Amazon Cloud Drive: Unlimited Everything or Unlimited Photos.

Photos and video and other images can all be housed in Unlimited Everything. But for those are totally focused on storing and managing their snapshots, Unlimited Photos is a logical option.

Users can move their existing content collections and automatically upload literally endless amounts of new content, including photos, videos, movies, music and other file types to these Amazon accounts.

Samsung may be interested in buying Advanced Micro Devices as it looks to boost its position against such chip-making rivals as Intel and Qualcomm, according to reports coming out of South Korea.

A business publication in Seoul is reporting that the giant tech vendor is eyeing AMD, the world’s second-largest chip maker.

AMD has struggled in recent years as it’s tried to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, losing ground to Intel in the server and PC chip businesses while ARM and its chip-making partners continue to dominate in the mobile space.

The Federal Aviation Administration recently decided to allow Amazon to conduct outdoor experiments with its proposed drone-based package delivery services.

Now, an Amazon spokesman told a U.S. Senate subcommittee this week that the FAA permission is essentially too little, too late.

Amazon has been waiting since at least December 2013 for the FAA to come up with workable rules that will give the company the flexibility it needs to run experiments with unmanned aircraft systems, commonly known as drones.

Hewlett-Packard announced a pre-configured and pre-tested system designed to make it easier and faster for organizations to deploy and manage their private clouds.

The new offerings, announced March 24, expand the vendor’s Helion cloud portfolio. The Helion Rack—a 42U rack armed with ProLiant DL360 Gen9 servers as well as networking—offers integrated infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-service capabilities.
