Todd Bishop at TechFlash has reported that Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates has founded a new company.
The new venture, known as bgC3, is a think tank, based in Kirkland, Wash., Bishop said. Bishop, a former reporter for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, is now a writer for the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Bishop said:
“Is this Bill Gates’ next big business? A Gates insider gives an emphatic no-saying it’s not a commercial venture but rather a vehicle to coordinate the software mogul’s work on his business and philanthropic endeavors.“
Whatever the business is, it’s good to see that Gates is still in the game in one way or another.
And of course Gates is sticking close to his roots and honoring the technology that his most successful company developed.
Of the new venture’s technology infrastructure, Bishop reported:
“At the same time, it’s no ordinary office space. Visitors say it’s fully stocked with Microsoft technologies, including a Surface tabletop computer with a virtual guestbook application.“
Go, Bill. Do your thing.
