Industrial Company CIO Takes Leap

Air Liquide America Corp. has appointed an IT veteran as its vice president of IT for the United States and Canada. In that position, Steve Bellis will report to the companys president and CEO and help oversee its worldwide IT group.

Bellis comes to Air Liquide America after 10 years at mining company Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., of New Orleans, where he most recently was vice president and CIO. Air Liquide America, of Houston, is a global provider of industrial and medical gases.

Eastman Chemical Names Senior VPs

EastmanChemical Co. announced earlier this month that it appointed Roger Mowen as senior vice president of global customer services and CIO. In addition, Garland Williamson has nabbed the position of senior vice president of worldwide operations and chief health, safety and environmental officer.

Mowen comes to his new position after being vice president of the global customer services group and CIO. He has been with the company since 1971. Williamson was vice president of worldwide operations and chief health, safety and environmental officer. He joined Eastmans engineering and construction organization in 1967.

Based in Kingsport, Tenn., Eastman manufactures and markets chemicals, fibers and plastics. The $5.3 billion company has about 15,000 employees throughout 30 countries.
