OASIS has formed a new technical committee for the Electronic Business using Extensible Markup Language for Business Process, known as the ebXML BP technical committee.
The ebXML BP will work on advancing the ebXML Business Process Specification Schema (BPSS), a model for enabling business process collaboration within and between organizations.
ebXML users include General Motors Corp., the Pan Asia e-Trade Alliance, TransCanada Pipelines Ltd. and RosettaNet, according to OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards) officials. And RosettaNet has adopted ebXML BPSS, the officials said.
Members of the ebXML BP technical committee include Attachmate Corp., Cyclone Commerce Inc., Fujitsu Ltd., Sterling Commerce, Sun Microsystems Inc. and Sybase Inc . The committee held its first meeting Monday via teleconference.
OASIS officials said the ebXML BP technical committee will work with other OASIS committees, including the Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WSBPEL) committee, the ebXML Message Service standard committee, the ebXML Collaboration Protocol Profile and Agreement committee, and the OASIS e-Government technical committee.
Monica Martin of Sun and Dale Moberg of Cyclone Commerce are the proposed co-chairs of the ebXML BP technical committee.
