Web-based staff scheduling and labor management software OnShift, which has increased its customer base to over 1,000 sites during the past year, announced that it has closed $7 million in Series C financing.
The company said the investment would be used to accelerate OnShift’s research and development plans and increase its presence in the health care market through sales and marketing.
“Healthcare reform and an aging population are changing the game for long-term care and senior living providers. OnShift is in the right place, at the right time, with innovative staffing and labor management products and services that help providers realize operational, financial and quality improvements,” Mark Woodka, CEO of OnShift, said in a statement. “Staffing and labor management have risen to the top of executive agendas. This investment will help us meet this demand by increasing product development and accelerating our growth.”
The round was led by new investor HLM Venture Partners and included participation from OnShift’s institutional investors Draper Triangle Ventures, Early Stage Partners, Fifth Third Capital, Glengary LLC, and West Capital Partners, according to an OnShift release.
OnShift is a cloud-based application, delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS) that is designed to help control labor costs by preventing overtime, increase efficiencies through automated scheduling and open shift management, deliver proactive staffing management, and improve quality of care.
The service helps to automatically place staff where and when they are needed, with consideration to care, compliance, and cost.
In October the company announced a new OnShift mobile application with a suite of scheduling and shift management capabilities for employees.
The mobile application also gives employees access to and management of their work schedules on the go, at any time, from a wide variety of mobile devices.
With the ability to manage work preferences and shift options from the OnShift mobile app, employees can strike a better work-life balance and senior care organizations gain higher employee engagement and satisfaction, the company claims.
The employee-centric scheduling capabilities of the mobile app are also available in the OnShift Web application, and the app is available for Apple iOS and Google Android devices.
MDI Achieve, provider of MatrixCare, an electronic health record (HER) solution for the long-term care and senior living continuum, and OnShift, recently announced a partnership to deliver solutions to address rising acuity levels and deliver cost savings across the post-acute continuum of care, including integrating MatrixCare with OnShift to exchange data bi-directionally.
