The truth is, as long as a job can be outsourced for a fraction of the cost, that is exactly what will happen (Stan Gibsons Outsourcing & Services, “Engineer Gap: Real or Imagined?” Jan. 9).

Who wants to bolster the U.S. engineer numbers only to be unemployed? Out here in the real world, as it was referred to in school, U.S. students should continue to be very worried about selecting engineering as a field of study, whereas their counterparts in India and China can remain very encouraged.
