There I was, cruising along the Washington Beltway, when a radio ad for Qwest came on. Today, the company was pushing its broadband service using a “moving goods” metaphor. All went fine until a line that went something like this came on: “Compared to other bandwidth providers, Qwest can handle loads big enough for the Titanic.” Uh, guys, the Titanic sure could carry a lot of stuff, but ah, most of it is sitting on the bottom of the Atlantic. I dont care how much data a broadband connection can carry if its going to disappear into the deep, and Ill bet neither do their prospective customers. Just a thought.
