Walt Disney and News Corp have formed a joint venture to deliver movies over the Web and via digital cable TV systems, according to published reports.

Disney is the last major studio to jump into the Web distribution fray. Last month, — Sony, AOL Time Warner, Viacom, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Vivendi Universal joined forces to offer Internet delivery of movies on demand.

The new service will be offered through Movies.com, an existing site that Disney and News Corps 20th Century Fox studio have been developing.
