The Jabra PRO 9470 offers a small touch screen on the base station for call control and configuration, while the headset charging mount has a small magnetic tug, similar to a Macbook’s MagSafe connector.
3Touch Screen
Using the 2 by 1.5 inch touch screen, I could trigger a setup wizard to setup the headset for use with a desk phone, a PC soft phone, and a mobile phone.
4Modular headset
The PRO 9470 headset has a modular design, allowing users to choose from three different wear styles.
5Three styles
When fully assembled, users can choose from a headband (left), earclip (top right), or neckband. The earclip style comes with three different eargel sizes.
6Device connections
Users can configure supported phones from either the PC application (PCSuite) or via the base station touch screen.
7Battery life
Battery status is available on either screen also. The PRO 9470 is rated for 10 hours using narrowband or 8 with wideband audio.
8Softphones
The PRO 9470 supports Skype, Microsoft Communicator, or IBM Lotus Sametime soft phones.
9Updates
From the PCSuite software, users or administrators can upgrade the firmware of the headset and base station. In more recent versions of PCSuite, the software is itself is also easily upgradeable.
