As the top social network for businesses, it’s important for LinkedIn to support as many enterprise-oriented mobile phones as possible.

LinkedIn June 7 released LinkedIn for BlackBerry 1.1 with support for BlackBerry Storm and Pearl devices, adding to the Bold, Tour and Curve devices the application already began supporting in March.

The application lets LinkedIn users search among the network’s 60 million members; send invitations to and accept invitations from prospective contacts; receive suggestions for new contacts; access connections and send messages; and view network updates.

LinkedIn/BlackBerry users can sync LinkedIn connections with their BlackBerry address book and view the profile of any contact on their BlackBerry by selecting the “View LinkedIn Profile” option from a drop-down menu.

LinkedIn invitations and messages will appear in the BlackBerry Inbox as regular e-mail. Messages sent from members will include their LinkedIn profiles. Moreover, users may view the LinkedIn profile of any attendee of a meeting on the BlackBerry calendar.

LinkedIn for BlackBerry 1.1 also includes more detail of what connections have been changing on their profile, including education and headline. Users will also know when connections add an Twitter account and Instant Messenger account.

There are also improvements in how LinkedIn renders fonts, as well as some improvements to the company updates the BlackBerry Contacts application when it has enabled address book integration with LinkedIn.

LinkedIn for BlackBerry, which now supports some 21 devices running BlackBerry OS version 4.3 or later, is also now available in Italian and Brazilian languages for users in those countries.

LinkedIn users may download it free here.
