Lumia 800

1

Nokia is betting big that the Lumia 800 (and its other Windows Phone devices in the pipeline) will appeal to consumers who want a high-end smartphone. It will offer the device in three colors: cyan, magenta and black.??í

Body

2

The Lumia 800 consists of a 3.7-inch active-matrix organic LED (AMOLED) curved screen integrated into a single-piece body.

Processor

3

The Lumia 800 packs a fair bit of power under the hood, courtesy of a 1.4GHz processor and 16GB of internal user memory.

Nokia Apps

4

In order to increase the appeal of its Windows Phone devices, Nokia is offering some proprietary applications.

Nokia Drive

5

Nokia Drive offers turn-by-turn navigation and voice-activated control.

Broad Reach

6

Nokia claims its Windows Phone applications will support dozens of countries worldwide, which could broaden the devices appeal to diverse audiences.

Nokia Maps

7

The other Nokia application, Nokia Maps, offers up points of interest near the users location.

Local Scout

8

Nokia Maps greatly resembles Windows Phones Local Scout application, which is also present on the devices. However, many aspects of the interface are different.

Metro

9

Nokias smartphones continue to embrace the Metro interface that defines the Windows Phone experience, with few deviations. (Aesthetically speaking, Nokia Drive more resembles an application Nokia might have created for its Symbian operating system than a Windows Phone application.)

Mango

10

Nokias smartphones will run Mango, an updated version of Windows Phone that includes some revamped hubs and a bevy of new features and interface tweaks.

Camera

11

The Lumia 800 boasts an 8-megapixel camera that uses Carl Zeiss optics.

Speed

12

Thanks to the fast processor, the Lumia 800s camera seems more than capable of taking rapid-fire shots. (And thanks to the camera hardware itself, the images seem very crisp.)

Lumia 710

13

Nokia is also offering a cheaper Windows Phone option, the Lumia 710.

Specs

14

As with the Lumia 800, the Lumia 710 includes a 1.4GHz processor. It will also feature a 5-megapixel camera.

Design

15

Despite boasting the same processor and proprietary Nokia applications, the Lumia 710 offers an altogether different design on the outside (and a choice of white, cyan, fuchsia and yellow back covers).
