On April 27 Nokia introduced its newest flagship device, the Nokia N8—its first to run Symbian 3 and be integrated with the Nokia Qt software development environment.

The Nokia N8 will begin shipping in select regions during the third quarter of 2010 in color choices of dark gray, silver white, green, blue and orange. Pricing is 370 euro, or approximately $492 in the United States.

The N8 features a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen thats 640 by 360 pixels. Thanks to its Symbian 3 OS, users can interact with it using multitouch gestures such as flick-scrolling and pinching to zoom.

The Nokia N8 boasts a 12-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash. Focal length is 5.4, the aperture is F2.8, and video can be captured in HD 720p. Theres 16GB of mass memory and a microSD card slot for 32GB more.

From a single app on the N8s home screen, users can update their status, share location information and photos, and view live feeds from Twitter and Facebook.

Skinny pockets? No worries. The N8 measures 4.5 by 2.4 by 0.5 inches. The weight is 4.8 ounces—same as the iPhone 3G S.
