Joel Short, co-founder, senior vice president and chief Technology officer of Nomadix, died November 21 in Los Angeles. He was 34.

Short founded Nomadix with Dr. Len Kleinrock in 1998. The company manufactures gateways and provides solutions to the Wi-Fi public access market.

Short served as vice-chair of the Wi-Fi Alliances Wireless ISP Roaming (WISPr) committee. He was a popular speaker and writer on issues related to roaming agreements and revenue opportunities in making Wi-Fi publicly accessible.
