Microsoft is expected to announce at its MIX 2010 conference in Las Vegas the launch of a beta of Silverlight for the Symbian platform.
According to published reports, on March 11 Microsoft initially posted and then pulled a link to download a beta of Silverlight for Symbian. A description of the technology, captured before Microsoft pulled the information, said: “The installable executable enables user to run Silverlight applications on the Nokia S60 5th Edition platform.”
Two years ago Microsoft and Nokia announced plans to work together to bring Silverlight to the Symbian platform.
According to “All About Microsoft,” a description of the accompanying tools said:
“The installable executable file enables users to run Silverlight applications on the Nokia S60 5th Edition platform. The executable file includes the Silverlight runtime for Nokia S60 5th Edition devices, the Silverlight runtime for Nokia S60 5th Edition emulator, sample applications, and developer documentation.”
