AirWalk Communications Inc. has raised about $7 million in first-round funding. The companys products reduce the amount of equipment needed to provide wireless services in areas where calls are likely to be dropped. The companys systems are based on CDMA and can handle both phone calls and data, avoiding the need for separate equipment to handle such traffic.
