Playing the host eSoft Inc. this week introduced a secure network appliance capable of hosting Web, e-mail and Domain Name System services for up to 200 sites per appliance.

PitBull protection The InstaRak appliance, designed for Internet service providers and application service providers, includes Argus Systems Inc.s PitBull LX intrusion protection software. The PitBull software will protect customers against attacks on their back-end administration tools as well as attempts by insiders to export unauthorized information.

Delivery over the Web InstaRak is designed for quick setup and easy administration and can be administered via the Internet. eSoft, of Broomfield, Colo., also has several add-on software modules available for download, including anti-virus and spam filtering. The appliances cost $1,349 each and are available now.
