Ipedo Inc. is coming out with a way to satisfy government- and industry-mandated data demands for two regulated industries: life sciences and financial services organizations.

The Redwood City, Calif., company will use Liquent Inc.s Xtent engine as a means to convert existing documents into XML and then link them directly to Ipedos XML Information Hub.

Ipedos XML Information Hub is a suite of three products: Ipedo Integration Manager, which aggregates information from various non-XML sources into XML; Ipedo XML Database, which manages information from multiple sources; and Ipedo Web Express, which speeds delivery of information in a customizable format.

The Ipedo/Liquent product partnering is geared to creating an end-to-end process to convert and assemble submissions documents to satisfy regulations. The life science template will be designed to allow pharmaceutical and biotech companies to streamline drug submissions by converting old clinical, status and research reports into XML, then integrating them to prepare the documents for future submissions. The financial services template will extract historical data from archived report documents. It will combine that historical data with data from financial systems, automating compliance with new XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) requirements now being driven by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

The Xtent engine from Liquent, which is headquartered in Fort Washington, Penn., is designed to transform content from virtually any environment or format into HTML, PDF, SVG, MS-Reader, WML or more, in addition to XML.

The companies have not determined a release date for the two templates.
