Smartronix has won the $18 million General Services Administration contract for the redesign of the Recovery.gov Website, the federal site dedicated to tracking stimulus spending. This is the first award under GSA’s Alliant contract and it is initially valued at $9.5 million through January 2010. If all options are exercised through January 2014, the total task order will be valued at $17.9 million.
To help the Recovery Board meet its mid-October deadline to complete the Website’s revisions, the GSA completed the procurement contract with Smartronix in 31 days and ahead of schedule.

“Recovery.gov 2.0 will use innovative and interactive technologies to help taxpayers see where their dollars are being spent,” James A. Williams, commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service for the GSA, said in a statement. “Armed with easy access to this information, taxpayers can make government more accountable for its decisions.”
The Alliant contract is a multiple-award, IDIQ (indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity) GWAC (Governmentwide Acquisition Contract) for which 59 companies were eligible to compete.
