A new industry coalition hopes to accelerate adoption of electronic prescribing. The group, called CafeRx, plans to promote common standards and programs to reward e-prescribing physicians—without favoring one vendors product over anothers.

Founding members include Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Capgemini, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs, NDCHealth, RxHub, and SureScripts. Membership is open to other relevant organizations that agree to CafeRxs founding principles.
