Westcon Group is looking to help its customers take advantage of the opportunities presented by the Federal Stimulus Package with the launch of a new program, which includes vertical-specific Web sites stocked with information, tools and resources.

The New Start America program was developed after a series of Webinars Westcon held in April that attracted almost 1,000 resellers. With the Webinars focused on on understanding the revenue opportunities created by the Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Westcon has taken it another step further with the launch of the program and the designation of a special area of its federal government solution site to taking advantage of the Federal Stimulus Package.

“We started about six weeks ago tracking the New Start America program and the Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” said Ronald Sheps, manager of vertical markets for Westcon Group North America.

Sheps noted that Westcon has examined where the $800 billion from the Federal Stimulus Package have been going and identified opportunities. Early opportunities for Westcon’s reseller customers mostly fall within the wireless and security spaces, with security having a broad scope that includes E-911, cameras and network security.
