Extended supply chain software maker Yantra Corp. will announce on Monday a new business process platform to help companies coordinate multi-enterprise supply chains.
The namesake platform provides an infrastructure for companies to model, configure and manage extended supply chain processes, according to Yantra officials.
Specifically, what Yantra, of Tewksbury, Mass., aims to do with the new platform is link and synchronize discrete order and inventory processes like channel management, order fulfillment, collaboration, procurement and delivery across multiple divisions and trading partners.
Yantras platform combines a J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) service–oriented architecture with business process and event management capabilities. The result is a system that can coordinate and manage orders across complex supply chains, officials said.
The Yantra platform incorporates business process modeling that allows users to define and model the complete process of a supply chain transaction.
An event management component monitors and resolves critical events in each supply chain process. Functionalities include rules for time-sensitive event monitoring, notification of events, and automation of corrective actions and resolutions.
A relationship modeling component provides the ability to model many-to-many enterprise relationships. This allows for the management of rules, permissions and communication requirements.
A multi-enterprise data model provides a many-to-many transaction data model, analytics and business performance data.
The platforms architecture is based on open standards, including J2EE, XML, SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration).
Yantra also provides a library of over 200 XML-based APIs that can integrate with enterprise resource planning, supply chain management and customer relationship management systems to help coordinate and monitor distributed orders and inventory.
The Yantra platform will be available Monday.
