At the annual Photo Marketing Association show in Orlando, Fla., Hewlett-Packard Co. expanded its HP Designjet line by adding the new HP Designjet 90 series, aimed at capturing more of the professional photographer market.

Calling it “an ideal solution for professionals in design, proofing and photography,” the company highlighted the series features in its announcement.

The HP Designjet 90 Printer series can print postcard-size images, full-color pages and banner-style pieces as well by utilizing a C+-size tray with an optional roll-feed capability for printing images up to 18 inches wide and up to 100 feet long.

The series also boosts resolution up to 2400 dpi using a six-color ink system.

Additionally, for better print performance and long-term fade resistance there is a built-in color sensor that works with HP Printheads and HP Vivera dye-based inks.

With the 16-by-20-inch print size, photographers can offer both photo enlargements and gallery print options without outsourcing the printing to photo labs.
