IBM this week will ship a new color laser printer for small and midsize businesses and small workgroups.
The Infoprint Color 1334 laser printer is designed for a specific niche: businesses that print mostly in black-and-white and occasionally in color, officials said.
Priced at $1,113, the Infoprint Color 1334 prints 30 pages per minute in monochrome and 8 ppm in color. Powered by a 500MHz processor, the printer has 128MB of memory (expandable to 320MB). It includes USB 2.0 and 10/ 100BaseTX Ethernet.
With a 320-square-inch footprint, the machine fits in cramped work spaces, according to company officials.
IBM, like Dell, sells rebranded Lexmark printers. The Infoprint Color 1334 is based on Lexmarks C510 networked model.
