      When connected to the keyboard base, the IdeaPad U1 uses Windows 7. In tablet form, it relies on an operating system based on Android 2.2.

      4Slates for the U.S.?

      Although the IdeaPad U1 with LePad Slate is being sold only in China, Lenovo is planning similar slate products for a more global rollout later in 2011.

      5Lenovo Smartphone

      Lenovo also provided a glimpse of an Android-based smartphone for the Chinese market. Company representatives at CES were tight-lipped about any plans for such a device in the Unites States.

      Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y570 can use Lenovo RapidDrive SSD technology to boot in less than 10 seconds.

      Although Lenovo has traditionally targeted the ThinkPad line at corporations, it has also taken steps to push its products to the consumer market.

      Lenovo’s ThinkPad E220 includes a 12.5-inch display, while the E420s’ display (seen here) measures 14 inches. Both include Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, soft matte lids, and Webcams.

      The IdeaPad V570, along with the rest of the IdeaPad V Series laptops, includes a second-generation Intel Core processor and fast booting. The laptops are scheduled to hit the street in April.
