Thin but by no means frail, the ThinkPad X1 features a 13.3-inch Corning Gorilla Glass display, a spill-resistant keyboard, a magnesium chassis and what Lenovo calls Roll Cage technology. “We stand on them,” said one Lenovo product manager. You stand on them? “Yep.”
2ThinkPad Features
Call it business meets pleasure: The X1 pairs ThinkPad firsts such as a backlit keyboard and Dolby Home Theater v4 sound with double the CPU performance and quadruple the graphics performance of its previous 13-inch laptop.
3Keyboard
The keyboard—the “most important touch point of a computer,” said one Lenovo executive—is a major focus for the company. With the X1, it phased out legacy keys such as SysRq and added dedicated controls for multimedia and voice calling controls. VOIP (voice over IP) is another emphasized perk.
4Availability
The X1 will be available May 17, starting at $1,399.
5Lenovo ThinkCentre Edge 91z
The first PC in the ThinkCentre Edge family, the 91z features 21.5-inch glossy high-definition display, optional 1GB AMD Radeon discrete graphics card for a speedier multimedia experience and up to an Intel Core i7 quad core low-power CPU.
6Wall Mounted
The 91z can be wall mounted and paired with a wireless keyboard and mouse.
7ThinkCentre Features
The 91z supports HDMI, features a Webcam for video calls, offers the option of a Blu-ray DVD drive and supports streaming video over WiFi.
8Enhanced Windows Experience
Lenovo’s Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 enables the 91z to boot up 30 percent quicker than without it, and the model with a RapidDrive solid-state drive additionally shaves 20 seconds from startup. Arriving in July, pricing for the 91z will start at $699.
