Microsoft has four security bulletins slated for February’s Patch Tuesday release.
According to Microsoft’s advance notification, all four bulletins cover remote code execution vulnerabilities. Two of the bulletins are rated “critical,” and affect Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Exchange. The other two bulletins are rated “important” and affect SQL Server and Microsoft Office Visio.
The Internet Explorer update applies to Windows 2000, XP and Vista and Windows Server 2003 and 2008. The Exchange bulletin affects Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, 2003 Server and 2007 Server.
The SQL Server bulletin affects editions of SQL Server 2000 and 2005, as well as the SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine. The Visio bulletin affects Visio 2002, 2003 and 2007.
January’s Patch Tuesday only contained one security bulletin, bringing the total for the year so far to five if all goes as expected. The bulletins are scheduled to be released Feb. 10.
