Yahoo! is in the midst of reorganizing into three divisions, unloading some execs and all caught up in claiming that it will now develop new focus. Am I the only one that believes Yahoo! got into trouble becaue its original hierarchial search engine was crushed by Google’s search methodology?Yahoo’s forays into Hollywood, news and lame social networking sites were never going to help it recapture the excitement of early Yahoo. The best they can do is to focus on what is making money and let the other chaff blow away. In the past years the company became what Jonathan Swift originally meant when he first created the Yahoo characters in Gulliver’s Travels: big, brash, loud and without substance.
