The G Poppa is moving. First came word that Google’s Manhattan offices were relocating to Chelsea. And today the Mercury News reports that Google may build a new campus a few blocks from its current Mountain View headquarters.

The Mountain View City Council is expected to approve a deal tonight that would let them negotiate exclusively with Google to build new offices and research facilities on 9.2 acres at Charleston Road and Shoreline Boulevard. That would certainly gussy up the big brown dirt field that’s there now.

The new buildings could house up to 1,000 workers. It’s unclear where Google will find space for the Metroid brain they use to suck up the world’s information.
