Some good advice from Chris Pirillo today: Don’t store your passwords in public Google Calendar listings.

“More importantly, the last thing you want to do is set a reminder for yourself in Google Calendar and leave the login credentials in the reminder AND set it for public viewing. Dude. Seriously.“

So not a security problem as much as a lazy user problem, or an uneducated user problem. FWIW, I did a search for “user password” in public events and the results were less than terrifying. Most passwords were for innocuous items like “mom’s night out” and assorted meetup.org events. Still. Protect your data, or share the fate of McKinsey & Co., which recently leaked login details for its weekly internal communication meeting. Oops. Ryan Naraine at ZDNet has more.
