A few minutes with Francois Bourdoncle, co-founder and chief executive of Exalead, the global business and consumer search provider. He has a few tricks up his sleeves that Google doesn’t.

Q: How is it you plan to topple Google?

A: Our product is superior. The entry barrier has never been as high as this day. But the economy now fully realizes that one, two or three search engines owning all the traffic is not a sustainable model. We’re betting the new economy will support the emergence of another Google. We see ourselves in the top five in the next two to three years.

Q. What’s Google’s weakness?

A: This is really nasty. The BearingPoint deal (Google purchased the security specialist) was done really just to add ‘security’ to Google’s aura. We see ourselves in the top five in the next two to three years.
