Google’s financial destination, Google Finance, continues to slip in the rankings.

Google Finance debuted in April at No. 28, but has since sunk to 43rd as of May 5, according to Hitwise, an Internet business intelligence provider.

The slow start for the supposed category-leading Yahoo Finance killer may be a case of looking like everybody else, Hitwise suggested. Google Finance, for all its new gee-whiz features, shows “how much time it can take to change consumer behavior.”

Curiously, Google Finance is the worst peformer of many of Google’s latest offerings, which have debuted in the top five in some categories, according to HitWise.
