Is Google cached out? Following a string of problems with its page-rank and site: operator algorithms, some Google users are reporting Google cache errors that apparently reveal lines of Google code. One poster on the Digital Point forums posted what appears to be part of Google’s page rank code, including values such as “pagerank_cutoff_decrease_per_round,” “use_spamscore” and “using_borg.”
That brings us to today’s word: Google. As of June 15, 2006, the company name is officially a verb, according to the arbiter of the English lexicon, the Oxford English Dictionary. This may or may not be good news for Google, as proprietary eponyms that fall into general use can decrease the value of a brand. Here’s a list of eponyms and an explanation.
I did it iWay. Information Builders has developed a pair of Google OneBox modules for the Google Search Appliance. According to the Google Enterprise blog, IBI’s WebFocus module interacts with its business intelligence system, allowing users to access WebFocus BI reports, database records and real-time messages directly from the Google Search Appliance user interface.
