Microsoft is preparing for a relatively quiet Patch Tuesday Nov. 11, with just two security bulletins on the menu.

Little information was made available Nov. 6 via the company’s Advance Notification. However, Microsoft rated one of the bulletins “critical.” That bulletin addresses at least one remote code execution vulnerability in various versions of Microsoft Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008 platforms. The bulletin also affects users of Microsoft Office software, including Word Viewer 2003, SharePoint Server 2007 and Groove Server 2007.

The second bulletin, rated “important,” is a security update for Windows that fixes at least one remote code execution issue for Windows 2000, XP and Vista and Server 2003 and 2008.

With only two bulletins, this month would tie with January for the smallest Patch Tuesday release of 2008.
