SiteLock, CloudFlare Partner on Web Security

SiteLock, a provider of Website security solutions for online businesses, is partnering with CloudFlare, a Web performance and security company, to deliver Website performance and security tools for online small and midsize businesses (SMBs).

The announcement comes as SiteLock makes its Website security and monitoring solution available on CloudFlare’s application platform. CloudFlare offers the SiteLock Premium and SMB Enterprise security packages through its global network and application delivery platform. The Website security services are designed for Websites with up to 500 pages and 2,500 pages, respectively. The versions are designed to offer protection for a variety of Websites, from content-only to large e-commerce sites.

“Last year alone, SiteLock fixed over 1,100 business Websites that were hacked. With the severity and number of threats targeting small businesses increasing daily, we continue to see proof that security should be treated as a multi-layered process and not accomplished with one particular product or service,” said Givonn Jones, business development manager of SiteLock. “Given that many small businesses have limited time and IT resources, the powerful combination of CloudFlare’s speed and SiteLock’s security provide the peace of mind that their Websites are meeting their business needs and keeping their visitors and customers safe.”

From blogs and other content-driven sites to dynamic or e-commerce Websites, SiteLock scans the site for malware, injections, and other threats. SiteLock Enterprise is a virus scanner that reviews all files and applications on a Website against industry and proprietary databases of virus software. If the company identifies a virus on the site, they notify the customer and can help remove it. SiteLock also offers network security, database protection and application scanning solutions.

The CloudFlare platform is designed to optimize the delivery of Web pages so visitors get the fastest page load times and best performance. The company also blocks threats and limits abusive bots and crawlers from wasting bandwidth and server resources. A threat-control panel shows the threat visitors by country origin, type, IP address and severity, and the platform also allows businesses to track which search engine crawlers are coming to the Website.

“SiteLock provides an additional layer of security beyond the existing protection of CloudFlare to ensure your investment is protected and your reputation is safe,” said John Roberts, platform lead at CloudFlare. “By partnering with SiteLock, we are continuing to provide our customers with tools to make their sites faster and safer. We are excited to welcome them as a CloudFlare application partner.”
