Collax, developer of Linux servers for small and growing businesses, has announced an agreement with Ingram Micro as its first U.S. distributor.
This is a major step forward for the German-born company, which is in the process of moving to a U.S-based headquarters and the American markets.
Ingram Micro, one of the worlds largest distributors, will play a powerful role in whether Collax is successful or not.
Ingram will handle Collax product aggregation and distribution, while working together with Collax to generate leads and create new opportunities for channel solution providers.
Collax offers both hardware server appliances, as well as the new software-only Collax Business Server for SMBs (small-to-medium sized businesses).
The company has two goals—slim its Linux down to include only the best-of-breed server application; and make both the operating system and applications as easy to manage as possible, through the use of a unified web-based console.
